Our Approach.
We advocate for change by raising awareness and pushing for better support structures for foster youth—especially those aging out—because the current system fails to meet their long-term needs. We help them discover their passions and purpose through mentorship, exposure to new opportunities, and hands-on experiences. By providing career development, life skills, and emotional support, we ensure they transition into society as confident, productive individuals.
Our Why.
When these young people age out of the system at 18 or 21 years of age, they are often ill-equipped to navigate a successful path to a self-sufficient and independent adulthood. That’s precisely when they become most vulnerable — to homelessness, human trafficking, and a host of other threats and obstacles to their well-being and future happiness. According to the U.S. Administration for Children and Families (ACF), by age 21, at least 26% of young people who aged out of foster care in the United States experienced a period or more of homelessness; a third lacked a high school diploma; and 25% had no health insurance. A quarter of these youth already had fathered or given birth to a child.

Our Impacts
Annual Austin Hooper Foundation Golf Tournament
The Austin Hooper Foundation hosts an annual celebrity golf fundraiser to support our programs with help from NFL players across the league. Each year, athletes, community leaders, and supporters come together for a day of friendly competition, networking, and philanthropy. The tournament not only brings awareness to our mission but also features a catered luncheon, live entertainment, raffles, and silent auctions with exclusive memorabilia. All proceeds directly fund initiatives that empower foster youth, provide essential resources, and create lasting impact in local communities—making this event one of the foundation’s most anticipated traditions.
Holiday Gift Giving
Austin gives holiday gifts to approximately 250 foster youth living in San Francisco and the Bay Area, an initiative he has worked closely with two Bay Area agencies on for over five years.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
During Thanksgiving week, Austin Hooper and the Austin Hooper Foundation partner with Stop and Shop to distribute 100 turkeys and grocery boxes to families in need, actively working to combat food insecurity.
