The Austin Hooper Scholarship Fund honors outstanding students who exemplify academic excellence, strong leadership, and dedication to serving their communities. Through this support, the fund empowers future leaders to pursue their education and create meaningful, lasting impact in the world around them.
Overview
The Austin Hooper Scholarship Fund Application is designed to support academic excellence and foster community leadership among students. Applicants are required to provide comprehensive personal and contact information, which includes their full name, date of birth, mailing address, city, state, ZIP code, email address, and phone number. In addition, parent or guardian information such as name and email address is also necessary.
Supporting Academic Excellence and Community Leadership
The Austin Hooper Foundation encourages students to pursue their aspirations, become leaders within their communities, and strive for educational advancement. Through this scholarship program, financial assistance is awarded to students who are dedicated to furthering their education. Scholarship amounts range from $1,000 to $5,000.
Eligibility Requirements
· Applicants must be currently in foster care or working with a foster care agency.
· Applicants are expected to begin studies at a university or trade school in the Fall of 2026.
· A minimum GPA of 2.8 or higher is required, verified by an unofficial transcript (We are accepting the unofficial to avoid an unnecessary cost to the applicant.)
· Applicants must demonstrate hard work, consistency, dedication, and a commitment to community service.
Application Components Requirements
1. Attach a copy of your unofficial high school transcript.
2. Essay (80 Points): Write an essay on one of the topics provided.
3. Community Service/Extracurricular Activities (20 Points): Provide documentation of your participation in community service activities.
4. Reference letter from foster care agency or social worker.

Application Review Process
A selection committee will conduct a thorough, fair, and impartial evaluation of all applications that meet the minimum requirements. Applications will be ranked based on scores assigned by the committee. Final recipients will be selected according to application scores and the committee’s judgment.
Review Criteria
· Essay: 80 points
· Community Service or Extracurricular Activities: 20 points
· Total possible score: 100 points
Applicants are also required to provide a reference letter from a social worker or a representative of the foster care agency.
